Authentication

The Venanzi authentication service.

Every Venanzi piece carries a small chip woven into its label. This service reads that chip and confirms, cryptographically, that the piece in your hands was made by the House.

To verify a piece

Hold the top of your phone against the Venanzi label for a moment. Most recent iPhones and Android phones read the chip automatically — no app is needed — and open this page with the piece's record.

Each tap produces a one-time cryptographic signature, so a verification cannot be copied, reused, or faked by photographing the label.

If nothing happens

Make sure NFC is enabled on your phone (on iPhone it always is), remove thick cases, and move the phone slowly along the label — the chip sits in a precise spot. On some Android phones the reader is in the middle of the back rather than the top.
